An Evaluation of Gender Variations in THE FANTASTIC Gatsby

Throughout F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel, The Great Gatsby, women are in practically total control of who they will be married to and whom they opt to contain affairs with. Daisy Buchannan and Myrtle Wilson both find guys who are in a few ways much better than their original husbands. Only 1 husband appears to learn anything about his wife having an affair as the other remains to be oblivious to the identification of the man who was simply associated with his wife. Both women of all ages want more than what they own, Daisy sees considerably more in Jay Gatsby and Myrtle views more in Tom Buchanan than she will in her individual husband, George Wilson. Both women are superficial and so are seeking stability, security and normality in a guy. In today’s society virtually all women would agree they are looking for similar characteristics in their partners; however, sometimes the person one fell deeply in love with changes or another more appealing gentleman comes along and outshines the initial man. Divorce and adultery seem to be to occur more regularly today than they did 60 years ago and additional back. Women have become more independent and not generally settling for what they include. In
